BrightCore
So, what makes BrightCore different, and SmartGrid appealing?
It is not usual usage an interface to talk to automation network. It is not talking over the gateway with the BMS network.
BrightCore talks through a native network device which follows the rules of the network as any other attached device. Why that is important? That unique feature opens seamless integration of whole BMS network into SmartGrid architecture.
After the data content from the field device reaches the BrightCore BrightNode device it is translated into a common object which keeps all details of the particular BMS network protocol (data points as well services). Such approach help us to connected data point from various networks without usage of gateway in the same process, and ensure internetwork visibility of devices beyond build border. Such feature, is essential for controlable SmartGird integrated buildings.

Having problems like "we do not support this and that" from various manufactures generally initiated development of BrightCore framework, which was awarded with LonMark's international software product of the year at LONCOM2009.
The base for that development and achievement was the LonWorks software stack, which could transform any IP device with Operating System to IP LonWorks device commissionable in standard LonWorks commissioning tool (LonMaker). The stack currently works at both platforms Windows and Linux, from small DIN rail embedded devices to big 19” rack servers.
After LonWorks we added ModbusTCP and BACnetIP is in testing phase. Other protocols will follow. What will stay the same is absolutely open system approach, and native accesses to particular control network.
Our vision was to have a platform which could work with products from any standard vendor, on a native way without gateways. To have a platform which will simply integrate SmartGrid features as well energy efficiency without compromising controllability of the system. Currently, we opened new part of BrightCore development with Web services, which are putting BrightCore into absolutely different categories of the product than any other BMS what we know.
BrightCore gives you a native support of LonWorks, Modbus, and BACnet with common web services interface!
